When we took on Big Game Parks as a client we could immediately see that they needed a more structured and connected POS system. The company operates six businesses in Swaziland, South Africa, focused on wildlife conservation and tourism. As such, Big Game Parks incorporated many facets of services into their company that needed to talk to one another in order to generate accurate and insightful corporate reports. Tweaking and customising our software to best suit Big Game Parks’ needs was both challenging and incredibly rewarding for both parties. Here’s how we did it.

“Big Game Parks were handling A LOT of information from various services that just weren’t connecting properly. Big Game Parks have found that their overall company runs much smoother since switching to infoPOS.”

Challenge

Big Game Parks were handling A LOT of information from various services that just weren’t connecting properly. Their three conservation parks’s POS systems need to configure ticketing and gift shop purchases, while their specialty lodges were required to process accommodation bookings and bar and restaurant sales. Managing these systems across several sites was becoming challenging and required a lot of manual input, which was taking up valuable time that needed to be spent on customer relations. Each site felt excluded from one another, instead of being a part of an overall company because of the lack of integration Big Game Parks were experiencing with their existing POS system. Furthermore, this current POS system did not fully integrate with the SAGE 300 ERP that they were using, causing further issues.

Solution

infoPOS were able to analyse Big Game Parks’ systems and create software that would integrate into these systems, bringing them all together to streamline information transfer. Analysing Big Game Park’s processes took a lot of elbow grease, but was something that they had been meaning to do for a long time. This increased connectivity and really solidified their sales chain so that it was transparent and working at optimum efficiency. The time it took to analyse these processes was definitely worth the long-term payoff as it meant that outdated approaches were ditched for quicker methods of service. It turned into a very effective audit of the overall company which only improved their operations methods in order to increase future revenue.

Results

Big Game Parks have found that their overall company runs much smoother since switching to infoPOS. All of their information is much more streamlined by having a POS system that talks specifically to their SAGE ERP. The level of integration that they experience on a daily basis, customised to suit their various business’ specific needs makes finding information such as booking reservations, keeping track of ticketing availabilities and gift shop stock levels much easier. Connecting all of their sites with infoPOS means has brought the company together as a whole, rather than considering it as six separate businesses as before.
